Bingley Weekender – West Yorkshire’s celebrated outdoor live music event – has announced that this year’s gathering will be rescheduled to 2021 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The festival will now take place on Friday 6th August to Sunday 8th August 2021, originally planned for 4-6th September 2020.
Organisers SSD Concerts have worked tirelessly to maintain Bingley Weekender’s stellar line-up and are delighted to confirm that the vast majority of the line-up will remain in place alongside some exciting new additions. Legendary Leeds indie outfit, Embrace join co-headliners Primal Scream to round off a packed opening night and organisers promise an iconic Sunday headliner to be announced.
Reacting to today’s announcement, festival organiser Steve Davis, said: “The safety of our guests, our staff and of the artists performing is always our number one priority, and that’s why we’ve had to make the difficult decision to move Bingley Weekender to next year.
“We were blown away by the public response to the first weekender last year and we were determined to come back with an even bigger and bolder line-up for the following event.
“Although this won’t sadly happen as planned this summer, we can’t wait to see everyone in much happier circumstances in 2021. The show must go on and I hope everyone likes the new line-up!”
Our line-up represents a major coup for Bingley Weekender and the event is determined to make its second annual gathering a success.
Other notable names set to perform at Bingley Weekender 2021 includes The Amazons – one of the UK’s largest indie-rock breakthrough acts of the last few years, Peter Hook and The Light – playing tracks from Hook’s iconic previous bands Joy Division and New Order, English post-punk band White Lies, as well as the festival vibe master himself Craig Charles, who will be travelling to Yorkshire next year with his much-loved Funk & Soul show.
